US-Indonesia Trade Agreement Saves 1 Million Jobs and Cuts Import Tariffs
JAKARTA – TarnabakuNews.com, July 25, 2025.
A new trade agreement between the United States and Indonesia has successfully safeguarded the livelihoods of approximately one million workers who were previously at risk of termination. This positive development stems from a reduction in US import tariffs on Indonesian products, from 32% down to 19%.

Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that the agreement is an integral part of the government’s broader efforts to maintain external economic stability. Additionally, this move aims to create more job opportunities across the country.
The lowered import tariffs are expected to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the US market, boost exports, and ultimately strengthen the domestic industrial sector.

These benefits will be directly felt by workers through job stability and increased production potential.
The Indonesian government remains committed to fostering mutually beneficial economic partnerships with key countries, including the United States, in support of sustainable economic growth and improved public welfare.
